Rate my build
Okay, I have decided that I will make a rate my guild thread. Now first of all, I run a pure elementalist build but I chose E/R because some of the beginning Ranger skills are useful in the beginning.
So I run multiple elementalist builds but my most effective/damaging is my pyro build, take a peak:
E/R
Fire Magic:12(my real fire magic is >12 but I dont remember the values for it, so for the sake of calculations, Im sticking with 12. This just means you need to increase all fire magic values by about 4-7 to be precise)
Energy Storage:12
Skills:
Elemental Attunement
Ether Renewal(elite)
Conjure Flame
Aura of Restoration
Mark of Rodgort
Flare
Pheonix
Rodgort's Invocation
m'kay, the basic idea behind my guild is to deal a massive amount of damage while sacrificing the lowest amount of energy.
I think I'm designed to take out charging warriors more effectively than any other class. The main weakness is the dependence on long-recharge time enchantments. Here is the strategy though:
Come into arena, wait for the opposing team to start charging then cast these enchantments:
1)Conjure Flame
2)Aura of Restoraton
3)Elemental Attunement
This is to give me +350% hp for each spell I cast, +13 fire dmg each time I use a spell, and +50% energy each time I use a fire spell. (first 2 effects last a minute, last effect lasts 45 secs. which is why it is cast last)
Then I wait for an enemy to enter my target range and cast Mark of Rodgort on him/her. This is a hex that lasts about 20 secs. and for each time the enemy is hurt by fire dmg, they are set on fire for 3 secs. Then I unleash a flury of flares upon the enemy. If he/she gets close up I use Pheonix to do an outrageous amount of damage.
The flares are the most important skill for my build. I think people look down on using weaker skills cause...well, they're weak, but then they run out of energy and get screwed. Each time it hits, it will do around 60 dmg and set the enemy on fire for 3 secs. In case you dont know what on fire is, its 7 pips of degen, which is more than the average healing spell can regen. And since flare only costs 2.5 energy due to elemental attunement and there is no recharge time, I spam them for the 18 seconds mark of rodgort is in effect until they die. What would you do if you were suffering a constant degen of 7 while getting hit for 60 every 1 and a half seconds. However, if this fails and he has 3 monks supporting him and somehow he starts hurting me even though im getting like 17 hp every flare from aura of restoration, then I cast Ether Renewal and spam flare again. This means, if I haven't lost any enchantments yet, that for every flare, which I can cast about every 2 seconds (averaged), I will be getting 16 energy and 85 hp. Multiply both of these by 5 for the 10 seconds ether renewal is active and I've recieved 80 energy and 425 hp in 10 seconds. All the while I am using flare. Mark of Rodgort probably wore off by then, so I recast it, flare until he dies and then I win.
Rodgort's Invocation is there if I can avoid being someones target, and everyone is gathered in the same area, so I use that and they all spazz out going "WHY AM I ON FIRE" lol. Anyway, thats my build.
Also, my fire wand is 10-20 fire dmg (9 fire magic)
(increase energy by 2 when enchanted[lol])
(increases skill recharge when using fire skills 6%)
(Customized [+20% dmg])
and that your energy is at least 70.(which mine is about 61 right now but with more levels and more energy storage points[mine is 7 right now], it will go to around 85 I think)
This is my future build fyi, I dont have all these skills yet and im only lv.16 but I'm on my way (Just reached Lion's Arch yesterday)
As I mentioned before, I've made some other pure elementalist builds for the other elements but I wont post those until I've gotten a chance to test them out.
Well, yay!

Unless somethings changed very recently, both Ether Renewal and Elemental Attunement are elite. Best just stick with Fire Attunement.
Drop Conjure Flame. It increases weapon attacks, no? Immolate and Fireball are your friends.

Elemental Attunement IS elite. If it wasn't, it would render all of the rest of the attunements absolutely useless.

why would I drop something just cause its elite? And I thought conjure flame was +13 fire dmg if u used fire dmg to begin with, I didnt know it was weapon restrictive.

Cs Coldize - you *HAVE* to drop either Elemental Attunement or Ether Renewal. You can only have *ONE* elite skill on your skillbar, thus you can only have 1 or the other of them.
And seeing as your spells are FIRE based, swap Elemental Attunment for Fire Attunement (which in NOT an elite, unless they have changed things...) and you'll be fine :P you just won't gain back as much energy as you had planned.

oh woops, lol, silly mistake. I dont think this is my accurate build, but ya, ether renewal > Elemental Attunement. Unless... I had a question that wasnt answered about this a while ago but If I used Elemental Attunement and Fire Attunement, will I get 80% of my energy back or what?

30%+50% does not make 80%. Percentiles are added differently.
While I don't feel like doing the math, I would suspect you'd get anywhere between 60-68% back. But that's just an estimate.
Personally I feel that Elemental Attunement would actually be better than Ether Renewal. It lasts longer, and 1-4 energy isn't nearly as much as compared to gaining over half the cost of a Rodgort's Spells.
While I cannot 100% confirm Conjure Flame only works on melee attacks, I am quite sure. Because of it saying you get 1-13 extra damage when "attacks strike" it sounds like weapon usage to me. And in that case, you can be doing more productive damage with a different spell.

Its 1-4 energy for every enchantment on you for every spell you cast, meaning for every spell I cast I get 16 energy.
